Harry’s sixth year at Hogwarts will open up and find him calmer and more mature than ever. When the day finally came, Harry was more excited than ever to go back to school. He was made captain of the Quidditch team. However, Harry and his friends were shocked to learn that Professor Severus Snape had finally fulfilled his burning desire to become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. This year Harry had the pleasure of taking private lessons with Dumbledore, who taught him all about Voldemort’s past. Dumbledore hoped that knowing more about Voldemort would help Harry in his final battle against the Dark Lord.

A mysterious book by the former half-master falls into Harry’s hands at the start of his potions class and changes the course of his school year, giving him a reputation for potion excellence that surprises everyone. Harry quickly trusts the information he gets from the Half Blood Prince book and uses some of his potions outside of class, much to Hermione’s annoyance. Harry was looking more and more at Draco Malfoy. Convinced that Malfoy had replaced his father as leader of the Death Eaters, Harry suspected Malfoy was building a dark house inside the school, but couldn’t figure out what he was. Between Ron and Hermione’s friendship and Malfoy’s absence from the schoolyard, Harry is busy trying to figure out what Malfoy is up to.

As the years go by, Harry and Ron are surprised by their familiar love lives. Harry often falls in love with someone he knows he doesn’t deserve, Ginny, Ron’s best friend. His training with Dumbledore continues at the same time and he is thrilled to learn that he can accompany Dumbledore on a dangerous mission to help destroy the horcrux that contains part of Voldemort’s soul.

Things hit a breaking point very quickly when too many things happen at once. Harry and Dumbledore take a trip, Malfoy’s evil plot finally works and he is able to enter the Death Eaters to attack the school, and a fierce battle takes place between the students, the Order of the Phoenix gang and the Death Eaters. . Succeeding in their mission to retrieve the Horcrux, Harry and Dumbledore return only to find themselves in the Astronomy Tower, where, to Harry’s dismay, Professor Snape kills Dumbledore.

Dumbledore’s death was devastating for Harry, but he made him realize what his true mission was. He decided not to return to Hogwarts, instead letting him destroy the remaining pieces of Voldemort’s soul. Ron and Hermione insisted on going with him to strengthen him, and once Dumbledore’s funeral was over, they decided to start their journey together.
